Yusuf Pathan

Yusuf certainly rolled back the clock this season. There are so many fond memories of a belligerent Yusuf Pathan smoking bowlers all over the park in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League when he came out to bat for Rajasthan Royals.

Although he has shown glimpses of his form on quite a few occasions, he never quite had the match-winning impact. This season it most certainly was. Coming out to bat in the middle order, Yusuf played match-winning innings and won matches for his team all by his bat. He formed a potent and by all accounts a deadly combination with Andre Russell and effectively sealed games for Kolkata Knight Riders from almost hopeless positions.

Unfortunately, KKR did not make it to the finals, but Yusuf was the shining star for them. In the 15 matches, Yusuf scored 361 runs at an average of 72.20 and with an imposing strike rate of 145.56. He had 3 half-centuries to his name and was not dismissed on 8 occasions.
