Royal Challengers Bangalore finished second in the league stage of this Indian Premier League

Royal Challengers Bangalore has had a tremendous winning streak, winning five out of their last six games, to finish second in the league stage of the Indian Premier League.

The RCB skipper Virat Kohli deserves all the credit for his team’s turnaround this year, from the second last to second on the points table. The Indian Test skipper has been the perfect captain, leading his side to victory, from the front. Kohli is the leading run-scorer this season with 919 runs and is the only batsman to score four centuries in a season.

Yesterday, Kohli surprised the youngsters – Mandeep Singh, Sarfaraz Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal with customized headphones by ‘Evoke’. He gifted each of them a special edition headphone with their names engraved on each of them. The three of them took to Instagram to express their gratitude for the Captain.

Mandeep Singh, who got to play just one game this season is yet to get a chance with the bat, even though RCB has been struggling with the opening combination. He was supposed to play in the game against Gujarat at Rajkot, but got injured in the warm-up, missing out on the game.

The youngest member of RCB, Sarfaraz Khan has got five games this season, scoring 66 runs at an average of 33.00. However, he did not find a place in the playing eleven thereafter, because of his average fielding skills.

But the pick of the bowlers this season has been Yuzvendra Chahal, who is currently the Purple Cap holder with 19 wickets from 11 games. The 25-year-old has literally helped turn around his team’s fortunes after their bowling failed in the first-half of the tournament.

Bangalore faces the table-toppers, Gujarat Lions, on Tuesday at the Chinnaswamy stadium, for Qualifier 1, winning which they will directly qualify for the finals on 29 May.
