Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth’s incident was referred to as the “Slapgate”.

Perhaps one of the most discussed of them all, Harbhajan and Sreesanth’s on-field altercation garnered a lot of media limelight, even though the actual incident was never shown on live TV.

After his team’s win over the Mumbai Indians, the cameras caught Sreesanth crying inconsolably, with teammates around trying to calm him. Reports started coming out that Harbhajan had slapped Sreesanth with the back of his hand, the reason for which is still not clear.

After a disciplinary hearing, Harbhajan was suspended for the rest of the tournament and handed a fine. Years later, Sreesanth gave a new twist to the saga by saying that the incident was planned, and that Harbhajan had elbowed him, the truth of which, he said, was not released by the IPL.
