IPL 2017, MI vs RPS: 5 things that went wrong for Mumbai Indians

Rahane came back in form at just the right time for RPS

#2 McClenaghan leaks plenty at the death

Dhoni moved on to an unbeaten 40*(26) while Supergiant posted 162 on the board

Despite the 80-run partnership between Rahane and Tiwary, Pune’s rate of scoring in this phase was not really impressive. With the formidable batting line-up that Mumbai Indians possess, Pune definitely needed a move on at the end of the innings. The push on the scoring rate came from none other than Dhoni.

Walking in at the departure of Rahane in the 13th over, Dhoni, as has been the case in many of his recent knocks, started slowly and the Supergiant was a mere 121/3 at the end of the 18th over.

However, the penultimate over of the innings bowled by McClenaghan just changed the complexion of the game. The over began with a waist-high no ball that was promptly dispatched to the long leg boundary by Tiwary.

When the delivery was rebowled, Tiwary sent it straight down the ground for a six. Dhoni then finished with a couple of mighty sixes, the over yielded 26 runs. With a couple of sixes off Bumrah in the final over, Dhoni moved on to an unbeaten 40*(26) while Supergiant posted 162 on the board.
