Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga has been of the most consistent bowlers across all seasons of the IPL. He is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament’s history with 143 scalps in 98 games. He has taken four wickets in an innings on four occasions and only once did he manage to better that.

In their first game of the 2011 season, Delhi and Mumbai squared off in the iconic Feroz Shah Kotla. Opting to bat first, Virender Sehwag’s men had a miserable start as they lost a wicket every other over.

‘Slinga Malinga’ did most of the damage as his wickets of David Warner (1), Unmukt Chand (0), Venugopal Rao (26), Morne Morkel (0) and Ashok Dinda (0) proved vital in restricting the Daredevils to a paltry 95. Mumbai went on to win the game quite comfortably and Malinga was a vital cog in his team’s journey to a third place finish.
