The Afghanistan spinner was brilliant for SRH. He picked up 21 wickets in 7 matches at an economy rate of 6.73. He also bowled the most number of dot balls in the tournament, 167. He was the leader of the bowling attack for SRH and he played a key role in their qualification to the final. He was their trump card and Kane Williamson used him at all stages of the match and banked on the youngster to turn the game in their favor.

He got both of them out in the 51st match of the season. He was brought onto bowl in 5 over of the match and he delivered by picking up King Kohli's wicket. He was brought onto to bowl the 15th over of the innings. Rashid picked up AB's wicket in that over. Rashid Khan ended the match with figures of 3/29 but his efforts were in vain as SRH lost the match.

He dismissed AB in the 39th match of the tournament and could have dismissed Kohli as well but he couldn't, thanks to a dropped catch.
