The southpaw was known for his abilities with the bat than with the ball. But with this season, that has changed. He picked up 4 wickets in the tournament and in the 37 balls that he bowled. He was brought onto bowl in the 15th over during the 3rd match of the tournament. It was a huge gamble taken by Dinesh Karthik as he has hardly bowled in the IPL.
The gamble paid off as he scalped both Kohli and ABD off consecutive balls. His double strike was the turning point in the match. In end, KKR won the match due to a 20-ball 50 from Sunil Narine. The part off-spinner was very effective with the ball throughout the tournament.
