Mashrafe Mortaza has been one of the fastest bowlers in the Bangladesh armory, who rattled the batsmen with his pace and bounce. He has also proven to be their finest captain, leading the resurgence of the Bangladesh Tigers in modern-day cricket.

In IPL 2009 auctions, Kolkata Knight Riders picked Mortaza for a whopping price of 600,000 USD. However, the speedster made only one appearance for KKR in IPL 2009, ending with an unimpressive spell of 58 runs from 4 overs. He failed to defend 21 runs off the last over, being hammered by Rohit Sharma.

Till date, he remains as one of the costliest IPL buys from Bangladesh but ended up playing just one match.
