Ben Stokes was the MVP of last season

One thing is certainly very much clear - Ben Stokes is easily the best all-rounder of this generation. Be it playing for England in Tests or for some domestic team in county criket, Ben Stokes has the ability of winning games on his own. He was the anchor that guided Rising Pune Supergiants to the finals in 2017, and he was at his very best during his memorable century against Gujarat Lions in Pune.

Batting first, Gujarat Lions put a respectable total of 161 on the board. The chase didn't start well for RPS as they were reduced to 10/3 in just the second over. Coming in to bat at number 5, Ben Stokes batted like a man possessed.

With MS Dhoni holding the other end, Stokes showed his shot-making ability, smashing 7 fours and 6 sixes en route a memorable 103* from just 63 balls, which was enough to take RPS to victory with just one ball left.
