Middle Order
Mr. IPL, Suresh Raina, will come out at his usual number three position for the Chennai Super Kings. Raina’s recent form has been really good but the stylish southpaw did not quite live up to the expectations at the Wankhede. The IPL has always brought out the best in Suresh Raina, so expect him to fire at Chepauk on Tuesday where he boasts an excellent batting record.
Following Raina will be Chennai's new recruit Ambati Rayudu and this will provide them with much-needed stability in the middle order.
Rayudu, who has batted in the middle-order for many years in the IPL, looked good when he opened the innings in the last game. Rayudu was an obvious choice for the last encounter since he is a former Mumbai Indians player accustomed to playing at the Wankhede. Following Rayudu, it will be the charismatic CSK skipper, MS Dhoni.
Dhoni’s recent form with the bat has been a bit disappointing but players like him are an asset, especially in crunch situations. Dhoni will be eager to get back to form on his return to Chepauk.
The middle-order will miss the services of the injured Kedar Jadhav, who played a stellar role in the opening fixture at the Wankhede.
