Suryakumar Yadav and Lewis provided a blazing start for the Mumbai Indians

Promoting Suryakumar Yadav to open the batting for the first time in his IPL career worked wonders for Mumbai where he amassed 53 runs off 32 deliveries and with the help of another blazing knock from Lewis, scored 84 runs in the powerplay which is their best so far.

Both batsmen were positive right from ball one and scored at more than double digits playing proper cricket shots without slogging right through the powerplay. Runs in the powerplay over for Mumbai read: 15,10,15,12,14 & 18.

He was again trusted with controlling runs in the middle over but he couldn’t replicate his success and struggled with the lengths bowling short compared to previous matches.

42 runs were conceded by him at an economy rate of 14 and he couldn’t complete his quota of overs.

Krunal Pandya was summoned to compensate his overs where he did a decent job by scalping couple of wickets but was not proved to be enough to secure a win for his side.

Rahman would want to forget his day on the field.

After almost putting up a match-winning performance in the previous matches, Mustafizur Rahman backed it up with another commendable effort with the ball, however, didn’t enjoy a good day in the field.

The Bangladeshi pacer dropped Shreyas Iyer twice in the same over bowled by Bumrah at the closing stages of the match.

It was a relatively tough chance first time where he couldn’t hold on to the catch despite putting in a dive but missed a fairly straightforward chance second time which earned a stare from the captain who was clearly not impressed with his efforts.
