Their faith in the Karnataka-born batsman paid off and he is in a brilliant form since then. He played some brilliant knocks for the Lions, including the fastest half-century in the IPL history-which came off in just 14 balls.

Apart from his batting, KL Rahul is also doing a fine job with the gloves as well and shut down the critics who doubted his abilities as a wicket-keeper prior to the tournament.

KL Rahul scored 213 runs at an average of 42.60 and with an impressive strike rate of 183.63 this season. He has been given the responsibility to provide a good start to the KXIP innings and his role in the team can massively affect KXIP's chances of winning their maiden IPL title.
