For the second successive game, Mayank Markande was the star for MI

Mayank Markande was an unknown entity a few days ago and suddenly after the first game, his name is all around. Playing ahead of fellow leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, Markande justified his selection as he took 3 for 23 as MI found another talent against CSK.

Markande was excellent once again against SRH as he took one wicket each. The Punjab off-spinner walked out to bowl with SRH easing at 56 for 0, but the 20-year-old completely changed the course of the game. In today’s game, MI were defending just 147 and SRH had a very good start. He first dismissed Wriddhiman Saha with a superb googly as he gave 7 runs in his first over. In the next 3 overs, Markande took 3 wickets to dismiss Pandey, Shikhar Dhawan and Shakib Al Hasan to bring back Mumbai in the game.

With figures of 4 for 23 in the second game, Markande became the purple cap holder. However, his efforts were once again not enough as SRH held their nerve to romp home to a nervy one-wicket win.
