Finch could only manage to score 134 runs in nine innings at an average of 16.75 and a below-par strike rate of 134 this season with his 35-ball-46 against Mumbai Indians being his best. His lacklustre form eventually forced the KXIP management to drop him in favour of his Aussie compatriot Marcus Stoinis in the second half of the league stage.
