Rishabh Pant missed out on a hundred

After winning the toss, Delhi Daredevils sent in Gujarat Lions to bat first. Even though GL lost their openers within the first two overs, they were heading towards a huge total thanks to half-centuries by Suresh Raina and Dinesh Karthik, who scored 77 (43) and 65( 34) respectively.

Gujarat Lions were at 158-4 at the end of 14 overs after losing both the half-centurions. Thanks to some good quality bowling from Kagiso Rabada and Pat Cummins, the Gujarat Lions ended at 208/7 or else the target would have been much higher.

In the chase, DD lost the wicket of their captain Karun Nair in the third over, that is when Rishabh Pant joined Sanju Samson. The Gujarat Lions' campaign ended as a result of Pant's (97 off 43) and Samson's (61 off 31) blitzkriegs.

Both the batsmen have made a mockery of the daunting target and Delhi won the match with 15 balls to spare. Both youngsters could not finish the innings, but their blinders helped DD to an easy win.
