#4 Most wickets in a season by a spinner in an IPL season - Imran Tahir (26)

In the final against Mumbai Indians, Imran Tahir picked up two wickets to win this edition’s Purple Cap with 26 wickets. While his 26th wicket took him one ahead of Kagiso Rabada in the race for this season's Purple Cap, his 25th wicket made him an IPL record holder.

Tahir is now the spinner with the highest number of wickets in an IPL season. The previous record was jointly held by Harbhajan Singh and Sunil Narine who took 24 wickets each in 2013 and 2012 respectively.


#3 Most sixes in an IPL season - 784

IPL 2019 was a run feast, and out of the 18,753 runs that were scored throughout the tournament, 4704 runs were struck through sixes. A total of 784 sixes were scored this season, which is the most in any edition and broke the previous best of 769 sixes that were scored a year ago.

Unsurprisingly, Andre Russell with 52 maximums was the player with the most sixes this season. Because of Russell, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 143 sixes this season, which was 28 more than any other team.
