#4 Joe Root

The ever-classy, easy-on-the-eye Joe Root has been a notable absentee from the IPL for quite a few years. Root has never been a part of any IPL team, and the wait to see him in the league continues as he will be unavailable this season.

Root is a notable absentee from the 346 players up at the auction. While his credentials as a Test and ODI batsman are known to everyone, Root is a very underrated T20 batsman. His 787 runs from 28 T20Is at a strike rate of 130 clearly show his value.

Indian fans would hope they finally get to see Joe Root at the IPL in 2020.

#3 Eoin Morgan

England's ODI and T20I skipper is another big name that will be missed during the 12th edition of the IPL. Eoin Morgan is known for his crafty, innovative shots and the improvisation he brings to the table.

Morgan has played for the Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad and most recently the Kings XI Punjab.

The England Cricket Board have asked their players to come back midway through the IPL season, so it makes sense for Morgan to opt out of the league. He will be shouldering the responsibility of captaining his team at the 2019 World Cup too, which made it doubly difficult for him to play in the IPL.
