The Sunrisers Hyderabad had a great IPL 2018, making it to the final without the services of star batsman and captain David Warner.

That was mostly due to inspired bowling performances from their bowlers, especially Afghan leggie Rashid Khan and the extremely impressive Sidddharth Kaul, as well as solid batting performances from Kane Williamson - who had replaced Warner as skipper.

Williamson was excellent throughout the season and won the Orange Cap, but was often the lone ranger with the bat for the Sunrisers. This was due to the lack of a good second opener to partner Shikhar Dhawan as well as a very ineffective and inconsistent middle order.
