Shubman Gill shot to fame with 418 runs in the 2018 ICC Under 19 World Cup. He won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ title for his fabulous outing. He was picked up by KKR for ₹1.8 crore. He could not have a very successful season, as he was made to bat down the order in the star-studded batting heavy KKR side. He scored 203 runs in 13 matches that he played.

He recently made his debut for India against New Zealand. He played two matches but could score only 16 runs. However, we can't ignore that even Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and MS Dhoni had failed in both the matches.

However, he has improved a lot, and it won't be a surprise if he is given more chances. If he manages to get his rhythm going, then it might be difficult to stop him from winning the award. With the World Cup in the mind, this must be the best and the last opportunity to prove himself.
