MS Dhoni has always known for his six hitting abilities. Though in the recent years he has struggled to hit sixes at will like he used to at his prime, last season saw a rejuvenated Dhoni who hit 30 sixes in IPL 2018. It is the highest tally of sixes for him in a single IPL season over the decade.

Chris Gayle holds the record for most sixes in IPL history with 292 6’s. It might take some years for any player to near that feat. The second highest is AB de Villiers with 187 6’s. Below him are Dhoni, Raina, Rohit and Virat with 186,185,184 and 177 sixes respectively.

If Dhoni is able to find his mojo again in this season like he did in 2018, he might become the first Indian to get to 200 sixes in the history of Indian Premier League. Though it may not stay with him for too long with the list being so close, being the first Indian to do so ain’t a bad record to have isn’t it.
