Manish Pandey was someone who the Indian national team selectors tried out as an option for the troubled No.4 slot of the Indian national team for the 2019 World Cup. He could not capitalize on those chances and was replaced with other players soon.

With IPL 2019 right around the corner, Pandey will be looking at this season as a final opportunity to make a statement to the national selectors. Further, he also has to repay the support given to him by the Sunrisers management who did not cut him off even after a disastrous IPL season last year.
