IPL Auction 2019: 5 players with shocking base prices 

#4 Liam Dawson (1.5 crores)

The 28-year-old left-arm spinner from England is up for grabs at the auction for a base of 1.5 crores. Dawson is into the early days of his international career and has played only three Tests, six ODIs and six T20Is.

Dawson has never played in the IPL before. Also, he does not have the reputation of being a threatening bowler in any other T20 league across the world. Considering this, it is quite surprising that he has set his base price at 1.5 crores.

The IPL franchises are unlikely to show any interest in him at that price and his base price itself may have ruled out his chances of getting picked.

#3 Angelo Mathews (2 crores)

The former Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews will go into the IPL in the 2 crore bracket. At that amount, Mathews is clearly overpriced and his performances in recent times do not justify that price tag at all.

After being removed as the ODI skipper, he is struggling to keep his place in the limited-overs formats in the national team. With the Delhi Daredevils, he has hardly made any headlines three years that he has spent with them.

His base price might have severely hampered his chances of getting picked and Mathews is likely to be just another one to bite the dust.
