Led by Dinesh Karthik, the Kolkata Knight Riders qualified for the playoffs last season after finishing third on the table. They ended up losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the playoff prior to the final.
KKR were quiet in the transfer window so far, however, they just recently announced the release of Mitchell Starc from their squad. Starc was a part of the squad last season but he was ruled out prior to the tournament itself due to an injury.
