Kings XI Punjab is a team which has never been able to showcase a great performance for the whole tournament apart from one or two seasons. This year also Punjab bought a lot of talent in the auction. They bought as many as 13 players in the auction and also the most expensive player of the auction this time.

Uncapped Player: Simran Singh, Sarfaraz Khan, Harpreet Byar, Agnivesh Ayachi, D Nalkande, Varun Chakaravarthy, M Ashwin, Arshdeep Singh, and Ankit Rajpoot.

Varun bowled with an economy of 4.7 in TNPL

Varun Chakaravarthy is the player about whom everyone wanted to know after the auctions this year. He rose to fame with his strong performances in TNPL. He was the most expensive player with a price tag of INR 8.4 Crores.

He is known for his mystery spin bowling and has a lot of variations in his bag. He also took forward his success in the TNPL to the Vijay Hazare trophy where he picked up 22 wickets in the tournament while playing for Tamil Nadu. Varun will play alongside some great spin bowlers in the likes of R Ashwin and Mujeeb ur Rahman.
