Kolkata Knight Riders picked up a lot of youngsters last year in the auction and everyone reacted by saying that KKR has not picked up good enough players to get through the tournament, but at the end of the season KKR was looking quite a formidable team.

KKR has in past also invested in a lot of youngsters and those youngsters also stood up to the occasion. They depend a lot on these youngsters to perform well and they also back them throughout the tournament.

Shubman Gill, the young rising star who many say might be the next big thing in Indian Cricket. Shubman Gill impressed everyone with his batting performance in the U-19 World Cup in 2018 and also won the Player of the Series award for his excellent batting display throughout the tournament.

Since then he never looked back. He is currently the leading run scorer for Punjab in the Ranji trophy. He has played very well in the tournament. He got a very few chances in the IPL last season but the KKR management might be ready to give him greater responsibility this year. He is pushing hard for the Indian team and a great IPL season can get him there.
