The Sunrisers Hyderabad have built yet another strong squad this season around youth and peppered with adequate doses of experienced players. They have plenty of backup options so much so that their reserve players are much better than first-choice players of other teams.

Basil Thampi won the Emerging Player award in IPL 2017 playing for the Gujarat Lions and was bought by SRH last season. He made the headlines for the wrong reasons, though and conceded 70 runs in a single match to ruin his chances last season. He's nevertheless a very exciting bowler and is very effective at the death. The Kerala speedster has been very good in the domestic season and showed his capabilities in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well. He must be provided with chances to prove himself.

Abhishek Sharma was tried out by the Delhi Capitals late last season and he impressed everyone with his big hitting. He was traded to SRH this season and the all-rounder can impress if provided chances. He mostly can't make it to the starting XI immediately due to the presence of all-rounders like Hooda, Yusuf, and Vijay Shankar.
