#8 Alzarri Joseph (Mumbai Indians)
Coming in as a replacement for Adam Milne, Alzarri Joseph had a fairy tale debut to his IPL career. Defending a paltry score of 136 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Joseph bowled with exceptional guile and control and picked up six wickets. His career best figures of 6-12 is also the best bowling figures in IPL history.
He had already made headlines for playing the test match against England after the sudden demise of his mother.
He unfortunately played only three matches for Mumbai as a shoulder injury forced him to leave the tournament.

#8 Jonny Bairstow (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
It is not often that an established English cricketer would earn himself a place in the IPL. This is because England is always known to schedule its domestic and international matches in the summer.
But Sunrisers' team management had other ideas. They bought Jonny Bairstow for ₹1.5 crore despite knowing the fact that he won't be available for the entire tournament. But their decision vindicated.
In the 10 matches, Bairstow scored an impressive 445 runs with an average of 55.62 and at a strike rate of 157.24. He and David Warner were instrumental in SRH's qualification into the playoffs.
One can only hope that a player like Bairstow is available for an entire season of IPL.
