IPL 2019: One star player from each team who might not be retained next year

Robin Uthappa is Kolkata Knight Riders' second highest run scorer after Gautam Gambhir. The Karnataka batsman has played in the top order and has provided some strong starts to his team. Despite his outstanding record for KKR, Uthappa was dropped from the playing XI for a couple of matches this year. And the reason for this exclusion is Uthappa's ability to get going in the middle phase of the innings.

The young guns like Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill do not get more time at the crease as Uthappa eats up too many balls early in the innings. His slow innings of 9 off 20 runs when the asking rate was over 12 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, was heavily critised by fans and cricket pundits.

Even though Uthappa's performance won't be rated as poor, but KKR might drop him to give more chances to other batsmen.
