Doubts were raised over the effectiveness of Kieron Pollard for Mumbai Indians when he was retained by the three-time champions. But he silenced all the critics by playing the match-winning innings when the team requires it. Against SRH, his 26-ball 46 took his team to a respectable total of 136 which MI defended successfully.

He went one step ahead against Kings XI Punjab smashing a 31-ball 83 to successfully chase a daunting target of 198 in the absence of skipper Rohit Sharma.

#8 Kagiso Rabada - 25 Wickets

Having missed out last season due to an injury, Kagiso Rabada was expected to build a wonderful partnership with Trent Boult. But he overhauled his senior pro to be the leader of the attack. His pace and bounce have hurried the batsman even in these Indian pitches.

His super over performance against KKR brought back the memories of fiery bowlers from the pre-millennium era as he bowled six toe-crushing yorkers. He holds the purple cap for the season with 25 scalps.
