Kings XI Punjab

The Kings XI Punjab have assembled a squad with a lot of firepower and have the right mix of experience and youth. They also have a lot of backups for the players who'll leave midway through the tournament.
David Miller has been a constant in KXIP's lineup for quite some time now and is one of the world's best strikers of the ball. He needs to be used properly and the team can gain stability in their middle order. He is a key player in South Africa's ODI team and will have to leave midway through the tournament.
Andrew Tye and Sam Curran are two players who have just a little chance of making it to their respective World Cup sides but Punjab have backups in Hardus Viljoen and Moises Henriques for the two.
Mujeeb ur Rahman too could be recalled during the playoffs n case the Afghanistan Cricket Board want their players right from the onset for their international matches which begin on May 8th.
Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders is the team with the least squad strength and as a result, are vulnerable to injuries. Though they have no players leaving for the World Cup, they have already been struck with 3 injuries and all of them have been to their pace bowlers.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti was pivotal in India's U-19 victory last season but he was unable to feature for KKR last season due to injury. A lot was expected from him but he has been ruled out again for this season due to a foot injury
Shivam Mavi was Nagarkoti's pace companion and played for KKR last season. Despite leaking runs, he showed good character and provided wickets when required. He too was ruled out of this season due to a stress fracture in his back.
Anrich Nortje, the Proteas pace sensation has been ruled out of this season with a shoulder injury. Just when it seemed that KKR's pace attack had some firepower with the likes of Lockie Ferguson, Nortje and Harry Gurney, Nortje got injured in South Africa's T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Sandeep Warrier and spinner KC Cariappa have been announced as the replacements for Nagarkoti and Mavi respectively.
