All- Rounders
RCB have plenty of options to choose from in this segment and it is sure to be a problem of plenty for the team management. Marcus Stoinis and Colin de Grandhomme stand out in the group. However, the question is: Can RCB afford to play them both in the same game?
For if both Stoinis and Grandhomme feature in the same match only one among Hetmyer and Klassen can play with a place for an overseas bowler. Not to forget, Moeen Ali who helped RCB win a few games last season could feature as well.
Additionally, Shivam Dube, who is in fine form in the shortest format, could well be the difference for them this year. But that is not all - Gurkeerat Singh, Pawan Negi, Akshdeep Nath and Prayas Barman are all capable all-rounders and in case RCB play only one among their overseas all-rounders, it might just be an opportunity for some of the Indian guys to make the stage their own.
Conclusion
Royal Challengers Bangalore look a really good side, having ticked more boxes than otherwise. However, a lack of clarity regarding their opening combination and finalizing on their overseas four depending upon the wicket, venue and the opposition might just be a little tricky for them.
The next line is an oft-repeated one for them: This year the team might just break the shackles and go all the way. But for the sheer passion of RCB fans, hearts tend to sing 'Ee saala Cup Namade'.
