IPL, apart from being the moneyspinner for BCCI, has played its part in developing the young talents of the country. Domestic cricketers who struggled to make a living previously have an opportunity now to get paid in the IPL quite handsomely.

IPL has paved way for many youngsters to fast-track their careers into the Indian National team. Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Khaleel Ahmed etc. are fine examples of that. Every IPL season brings to the fore newer and younger blood and those youngsters remain in the eyes of the fans for a longer time.

Here in this article, let us see the youngest players in each of the 8 IPL teams and how old they are ahead of the IPL 2019 season.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was the surprise pick in the IPL 2019auctions by CSK and the youngest player in the squad.

CSK is known as the old-age home of IPL players and it is no surprise that the youngest player in the squad is Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was bought by the team only in the recent IPL auctions 2019. When comparing with the other teams, he is the oldest among the youngest players of all 8 IPL teams.

Ruturaj is a 21-year-old batsman from Pune who is a member of the Maharashtra Cricket team in the Ranji Trophy. He has dished out good performances in recent times which has been the reason why the CSK bought him at the auctions.

It is only fair to assume that he has been taken into the Chennai Squad as a backup batsman and it is highly unlikely for him to get a game in the upcoming season. But with age on his side, he will be looking forward to being part of the dressing room with some of the stalwarts of T20 Cricket and hone his cricketing skills.
