Shimron Hetmyer caught the attention of cricket fans all around the world when he performed brilliantly against India in the ODI series. The left-hander scored the runs at an incredible strike-rate of 140 which made him a hot pick in the auction. The captain of 2016 U19 World Cup-winning Windies team was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for 4.2 crores in the auction.

He was expected to take the innings forward in the middle overs for RCB but he has simply failed to deliver. The 22-year-old scored just 15 runs in the first four matches of his IPL career which meant that he lost his place in the team.

Hetmyer had to wait until the last match to get another chance. He made full use of the opportunity as he scored 75 runs to end the season on a high. This was a disappointing campaign for both Hetmyer and RCB but the strong end to the season will give confidence to both.
