#2 James Neesham

James Neesham has been in good form for the New Zealand team in their recent games. He has been striking the ball well and has scored his runs at a brisk pace. He made a comeback to the New Zealand cricket team in 2019 for their series against Sri Lanka. Since his comeback to the ODI team, he has scored 204 runs in 5 innings at a strike rate of 182.14. He also picked up 10 wickets in 8 innings.
He has also been a part of the IPL with Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders. The Auckland-born cricketer has scored 1387 runs in 77 innings at an average of 24.76 and has a superb strike rate of 138 in T20 cricket. He has bowled on 86 occasions and picked up 91 wickets at a strike rate of 17.
Russell carried KKR this season and he didn't receive a lot of support. He was expected to share the load of finishing the innings with Karthik however, DK wasn't in good form. Carlos Brathwaite was also there in the squad, but he didn't do well in his limited opportunities.
KKR would have loved having someone of Neesham's stature as he could have forged a deadly partnership with Russell. His medium pace bowling would have given KKR an extra bowling option to play with.
