A wily customer with the bat in hand, Steve Smith has also been a really successful skipper for Australia before his year-long suspension in 2018. He has also led his IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals intermittently at various points in the league. Smith was even handed the captaincy job mid-way in IPL 2019 to bring the Royals' campaign back on track.
