#1 Utility buys in the auction
Over the years, cricket experts and pundits have emphasized on the fact that a good auction is a key to winning the tournament. MI certainly did not have to work too hard at the auction as they needed to fill only a few slots, and safe to say, they signed some quality players who will undoubtedly add a lot of value to the side.
The defending champions signed Australian batsman Chris Lynn for just ₹2 Cr, and the explosive opener will provide a very aggressive option at the top of the order alongside Quinton De Kock or Rohit Sharma.
MI also roped in Australian fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile for ₹8 Cr, and while Coulter-Nile adds some depth to MI's battery of pace bowlers, he is more than capable of using the long handle to good effect in the death overs.
Apart from their two foreign recruits, MI also landed the final bid for the services of southpaw Saurabh Tiwary. Tiwary has played for MI in the past and will add a lot of quality to Mumbai's middle order.
