#3 Parthiv and Moeen have to raise their game

As mentioned earlier, Kohli and De Villiers need batting support to augment the team’s chances of performing well. The experienced duo of Parthiv Patel and Moeen Ali have been retained by RCB despite having failed to deliver in the last two seasons. The time has come for them to repay the faith the franchise have shown in them.
Parthiv managed 153 runs in six matches in 2018, and 373 runs in 14 matches in 2019. While the returns aren’t bad, the disappointing factor here is that he has only registered three fifties in the last two seasons - one in 2018 and two in 2019 - with a highest score of 67. Parthiv has the talent to come up with the goods, but another middling season could mark the end of his association with RCB, and perhaps the IPL as well.

Looking at Moeen’s record, he totalled only 77 runs in five matches in the 2018 season - 65 of those runs came in one innings. In 2019, he notched up 220 runs in 11 games. While he looked good at the crease a number of times, like Parthiv, he also failed to convert the starts.
Moeen had only two fifties to show for his efforts even though he had a highly impressive strike rate of 165.41. He got a few opportunities to bat at the top of the order, but failed to convert them into anything substantial.
