2. Kartik Tyagi – Rajasthan Royals
After the quarter-final against Australia, everybody was talking about Kartik Tyagi. The right-arm pacer from Uttar Pradesh was the main reason as to why India could defend a below-par total against the Australian side.
Chasing 234, Australia were reduced to 17-4 inside five overs with Kartik Tyagi picking up three of those four wickets with the other being a run out. He was bowling in good areas and at good pace. In the same game, when a partnership was building, he came back and took another wicket to break the partnership.
Even in the game against Japan he picked up three wickets. He has been in terrific form in this World Cup. Rajasthan Royals picked up the right-arm pacer for ₹ 1.3 Crores in the IPL auction. RR needed Indian pacers and they are backing the young quick bowler. He will get to learn a lot from Jofra Archer who will be on the same team with him.
If handled well, Tyagi has the potential to be a match-winner for whichever team he plays in the future.
