#3 Brendon McCullum - 3 matches, 3 defeats

Brendon McCullum played three matches as captain against Royal Challengers Bangalore

Former Kiwi wicket-keeper batsman Brendon McCullum also captained two teams - the Gujarat Lions and Kolkata Knight Riders - against RCB in the IPL. McCullum was KKR's captain in IPL 2009. Bangalore defeated Kolkata in both league matches that season. McCullum played a captain's knock of 84 runs in the second fixture, but RCB eventually defeated KKR by six wickets.

Seven years later, McCullum captained Gujarat Lions in a match against RCB. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers destroyed the GL bowling lineup that evening in Bengaluru. RCB scored 248/3 in 20 overs and defeated Gujarat by 144 runs.

#4 Aaron Finch - 2 matches, 2 defeats

Another overseas captain who suffered a heavy defeat in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore was Aaron Finch. The Aussie batsman led the Pune Warriors in an away match against Royal Challengers Bangalore during the 2013 season.

Chris Gayle launched an all-out assault on the Pune bowlers, scoring 175 runs off just 66 deliveries. RCB defeated Pune by 130 runs that night. A few days after that game, RCB defeated the Aaron Finch-led outfit by 17 runs in the reverse fixture at Pune.

#5 Eoin Morgan - 2 matches, 2 defeats

Kolkata Knight Riders appointed Eoin Morgan as their captain last year. While the left-handed batsman has a great record as England captain, his record as KKR skipper is not so impressive.

In his first match as KKR captain against RCB, Morgan's team suffered an eight-wicket defeat after Bangalore restricted Kolkata to 84/8 in 20 overs. RCB recorded another convincing win over the Eoin Morgan-led outfit earlier this year during Phase 1 of IPL 2021. Morgan will try to end his losing streak against RCB on September 20 when the two sides meet in the UAE.

#6 Murali Vijay - 2 matches, 2 defeats

Murali Vijay made one of the biggest mistakes of his life when he won the toss against Royal Challengers Bangalore at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during IPL 2016 and invited the hosts to bat first.

Virat Kohli played an incredible knock of 113 runs, and Chris Gayle blasted a 32-ball 73 as RCB scored 211/3 in 15 overs. Vijay's Punjab Kings could only score 120 runs in reply as they suffered their second defeat against RCB that season.

Prior to the game in Bengaluru, RCB had defeated Punjab by one run in Mohali. Resultantly, Vijay joined the list of captains who failed to record a win against RCB in the IPL.
