1. Their best chance of winning the IPL after a decent auction

The change in RCB's style of play was distinctly seen after the arrivals of Simon Katich and Mike Hesson as Head Coach and Director of Cricket Operations. The side has looked at playing every game till the last ball, a quality they lacked in 2017 and 2018.

As far as individual opportunities go, Maxwell has a chance to regain some of his lost magic at IPL 2021. He was let go by Punjab Kings after being touted as one of their star players, and the sting is hard to miss. This is his chance to prove a point despite having heavyweights Kohli and De Villiers in the side.

2. A blend of youth and experience

Padikkal, Azharuddeen, Rajat Patidar, and Allen are young blood. This would mean a bunch of young legs on the field, and giving them an opportunity to prove themselves could be just what RCB needs at IPL 2021.

Time and again, they have relied on their champions to pull them through. This time, however, there's a sliver of hope that their young guns will stand up.

1. Complacency

That they have a star-studded line-up may be a cause of envy to other sides, but there have been instances when RCB have thrown away games due to their sheer complacency. The same complacency could come back to haunt the Bangalore-based franchise this time around too.

2. A form slump

Remember that forgettable 2017 season? RCB have a torrid history of going through prolonged patches of form slumps. This means that there is a possibility of the team struggling throughout the tournament, pegging them back from winning that elusive title.
