Sandeep Sharma is a Punjab-born youngster and was one of the most impressive talents to watch out for. His skill to swing and control over the movement of the ball both ways made him an effective pace bowler. He represented India in the Under-19 World Cup in 2010 and 2012, where he was a vital member in India winning the tournament.

With some regular appearances over the years, he was the spearhead of the Kings XI Punjab's bowling unit before being picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the eleventh season of the Indian Premier League.

In 2015, Sandeep was chosen in the Indian team for the limited overs tour of Zimbabwe, because of his effective IPL edition with KXIP.

In 2015, he made his T20 international debut against Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, Sandeep did not get any other chance to play for India after the tour of Zimbabwe even though he has been excellent in the Indian T20 league.
