Chennai Super Kings as a team has always remained at the topmost position when the talk comes to awards in IPL. It is the only team who has qualified for the playoffs in all the seasons in which they have played so far. They have emerged as the champions in 3 out of the 9 seasons they have played so far.

During the 6th edition of IPL which took place in the year 2013, CSK ended the season as the runners-up after they lost the finals to Mumbai Indians by 23 runs. However, they still had their players in the award lists for their outstanding performances throughout the season.

Michael Hussey was the one player in that list who was awarded the Orange Cap for his batting performances. Hussey emerged as the leading run-scorer from that season with the total of 733 runs from 16 matches.
