Colin Ingram made a lot of headlines when Delhi Capitals paid a hefty sum of 6 crores for the services of the middle-order batsman. Ingram was brought in by Delhi to provide experience in a highly inexperienced and young middle-order. Ingram played 12 matches for the Delhi Capitals and managed to score just 184 runs. At such a premium price, Delhi would have expected more from an experienced campaigner like Ingram.
After failing to make an impression in the tournament, Ingram was dropped by the Delhi Capitals in the last few matches of the league stage. It is likely that DC could release the South African from their squad ahead of the next season. The Delhi based franchise could look at other international options such as Roston Chase and Eoin Morgan, in the upcoming auction to solve their middle-order woes.
