#3: A back-up wicketkeeper
KL Rahul fulfilled the wicketkeeping duties for the Kings XI Punjab in the 2018 edition. He did a decent job for the side, and might continue with the wicketkeeping duties for IPL 2019 too, but KXIP might want to look for a proper backup wicket-keeper.
Wridhimann Saha, who was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad, could be a good option for KXIP. He also did exceptionally well for them in the 2014 season.
The other options for them include Naman Ojha and Heinrich Klaasen.
#4: Strengthening the middle order
Kings XI Punjab have a good middle-order in the form of Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, David Miller and Mandeep Singh; all of whom are capable of a place in the starting XI.
However, they are short of good middle-order backup, and that's what they will be looking to address in the upcoming auction.
2-3 solid batsmen should them good, and they might look at the following options to strengthen their middle-order: Joe Root, Henrich Klassen, Shimron Hetmyer, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, JP Duminy and Sarfaraz Khan.
KXIP could buy Glenn Maxwell too if he is available at a low enough price.
