R.P. Singh made his international debut against Zimbabwe in 2005. He came into the limelight taking two wickets in his second over. He is known for his heroics in the inaugural T20 World Cup helping India win it. Rudra made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008. He was the recipient of the Purple Cap in 2009 scalping 23 wickets. R.P. Singh went unsold in the recent player auction. He made his comeback in 2016 edition of IPL for Rising Pune Supergiant.
