
The IPL final is the last match of the IPL and is the title decider match. The top four teams in the table after the league stage qualify for the playoffs. The top two teams play Qualifier 1, the winner of which directly gets a place in the IPL final match.
The third and fourth-placed teams play the Eliminator and the winning team faces the losing team of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2. The winning team of Qualifier 2 goes to the final. Due to this process, the teams try to qualify for the IPL playoffs in the top two spots as it gives them two chances to get into the final. The IPL final 2025 is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 25 May, 2025.

Seven different teams won the IPL titles, as of March 2025. Kolkata Knight Riders are the defending champions as they won the trophy in 2024 for the third time. Rajasthan Royals first won the trophy in the inaugural season. Deccan Chargers clinched their first title in 2009, CSK in 2010, Mumbai Indians in 2013, Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016, and Gujarat Titans in 2022, as per Olympics' official website.
