The “Universal Boss” aka Christopher Henry Gayle represented KKR in the second and third season of the IPL. He was unsold in the 2011 auction. RCB's Dirk Nannes pulled out of the IPL due to an injury and Gayle was added as his replacement. He made the most of his opportunities scoring 608 and 733 runs in the 2011 and the 2012 seasons respectively. He also holds the record for the fastest hundred in IPL history. He got to his ton in just 30 balls finishing with an unbeaten 175 in 66 balls against the Pune Warriors in 2013. His explosive batting at the top of the order helped RCB to score big in most of the matches. He was sold to KXIP in the 2018 auctions where he has continued to find success with the bat, scoring 368 runs in eleven matches. Not only is he good with the bat, but he can also chip in with some quick overs in the middle. On his day, Gayle is the most destructive on this planet and RCB certainly feels his absence.
