SRH won their first IPL title in 2016

Bangalore and Hyderabad faced off in the finals of the 2016 season. Skipper David Warner won the toss and elected to bat first. He continued his explosive form scoring his 9th fifty of the season. Yuvraj Singh and Ben Cutting finished off the things as they scored 81 in the last six overs to post 208.

RCB openers Chris Gayle and Kohli were at their explosive best as they plundered bowlers from the first over. They scored 112 in the first 10 overs with these two scoring 82 runs in boundaries alone. Despite losing Gayle, Kohli kept scoring runs to bring up his fifty in 32 balls.

But the wicket of Kohli brought SRH back in the hunt. It started a downslide as they lost de Villiers, KL Rahul, and Shane Watson cheaply. Sachin Baby and Stuart Binny did play shots at the end but Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mutafizur Rahman were difficult to get away with in the death overs. Sunrisers won their first ever IPL by 8 runs.
