The first part of the seventh edition of Indian Premier League was played in the UAE due to the general elections in India. In the 11th match, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal challenges Bangalore locked horns in Sharjah. KKR, batting first, posted a good total of 150/7, with the highest contribution of 45 runs off 31 balls from Chris Lynn.

Chasing the target, RCB openers Parthiv Patel and Yogesh Takawale provided a flourishing start to his team, adding 67 runs in fewer than 8 overs. During the course, Yogesh Takawale, 29 years old batsman from Tripura, took on African pacer Morne Morkel in some style. Out of 12 balls, Morkel bowled to Takawale, six times, the RCB batsmen despatched the ball for four runs. Morkel conceded only 7 runs in his 12 deliveries bowled to other batsmen.

Yogesh Takawale scored 40 off 28 balls with eight fours, but in a dramatic end, RCB fell short by 2 runs as Chris Lynn completed one of the best catches in IPL history to get rid of the dangerous De Villiers in the last over.
