Manvinder Bisla was a welcome surprise for all Kolkata Knight Riders fans. Before the start of the season, everyone from fans to experts were talking about Gautam Gambhir, Jacques Kallis, Brendon McCullum and Yusuf Pathan as the big hitters who were representing Kolkata and Bisla never even got a mention.

Bisla had quite a decent season as he scored 213 runs in just 7 matches at an average of 30.42. However, the right-hander had saved his best for the last as in the finals against Chennai Super Kings. He scored the fastest fifty for his team in that season in just 27 balls and helped his team in winning the tournament.

Opening the innings in the chase, he made sure that KKR always had a chance in the game and tried his best to absorb the pressure even after an early departure of his captain Gautam Gambhir. He finished his innings with the score of 89 runs in 48 balls, which included 8 fours and 5 sixes.
